It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 whole years since I took these portraits that live in the WGDR hallway at Goddard College.
This Wednesday and Thursday, I’ll will be back in the pit of WGDR to capture and celebrate the station volunteers once again. Whether you’re brand new the station, had your portrait taken last time, or wish to remain completely anonymous (we can do that!) please consider stopping by. The “studio” will be set up Wednesday from 10-5 and Thursday from 10 am – 11 pm. So don’t be shy!
“The Volunteer Programmers of WGDR”, is a series of portraits that give a face to all the wonderful voices of our beloved 91.1 FM, community radio at its finest. If you haven’t heard of the station, or want to listen in, check it out on-line- http://www.wgdr.org There’s nothing else out there quite like it!

I heard that a great storm came through Moweaqua last night. I missed this one (we’re on vacation in Vermont, pictures coming soon!) but it reminded me of a landscape from last month that I haven’t had time to post until now. I love a good thunderstorm more than anything else in the summer!

Yesterday I finally got to meet Sophie, my friend Tina’s adorable granddaughter. We wanted to celebrate her summer visit with a few fun photos, garden hats and all!

As I had suspected, the Pow Wow would not disappoint! It was great to see so many people, though I do apologize that my dad was handing out my business cards like popcorn! (really, he gets 10 cents per card, so do him a favor and take one next time!)
Special thanks to Tiffi Sloan (below, looking gorgeous in pink) who runs the Miss Pow Wow contest, and our new Miss Pow Wow Queen. They both let me be a little bossy until I got the perfect shot!
ps) hope these are enjoyed by those Moweaquans who can’t make it this weekend- the Pow Wow misses you!

Today begins the 30th annual Moweaqua Pow Wow “Have a Fine Time in 2009”.
I’m ready to devour some home-made Ice Cream from the Methodist Men’s Group and run into anyone and everyone I’ve ever known in town. The Miss Pow Wow Queen contest takes place at 6:00 this evening, followed by the Flatbranch Pickin’ Parlor. I’m not one to pass up a good pageant and bluegrass music!
If you haven’t been to a small town festival for a while, come join us! A good time will be had by all.
