A Senior session, full circle…

August 22, 2009

Quite appropriate that my first Senior session would also be for the first little guy that I babysat in Moweaqua… I couldn’t have asked for a more patient, polite and photogenic model!

Matt and Amber’s Wedding

Congratulations to Matt and Amber, who were married this summer in Decatur! We had a wonderful time working with you and hope you love your images- it was a gorgeous event for two beautiful people in love!

Singing at the Methodist Church this Sunday

August 7, 2009

This Sunday my better half and I will be the musical guests at the United Methodist Church in Moweaqua. Service begins at 10 am, and we’ll be singing  2 songs that we hope people will enjoy.

One of the songs, titled “The Moweaqua Mine Disaster”, can be found in the Coal Mine Museum downtown. The original sheet music has a bit of a “Home on the Range” feel to it, so it’s been fun to turn it into something more folksy and melodic- besides, neither of us play the Ukulele!

The Volunteer Programmers of WGDR, 2009

August 2, 2009

40 new portraits went up today at WGDR, 91.1 FM!

I had the honor to spend time at the station this summer and photograph for two days straight in our make-shift studio… Having been a programmer back in the day (Saturday Mornings, The Kids Show with No Name!) I really consider it a second home.

This radio station based at Goddard College in Plainfield, VT is unlike anything else out there (completely community driven, free-format) and every week 60+ volunteers and four dedicated employees produce some of the most innovative and enjoyable radio you can find. You can even listen on line now- http://www.wgdr.org

These portraits are my way of saying thank you to all the dedicated volunteers, giving a face to the radio voices and celebrating an outstanding group of people who love community radio.

All of the portraits can be seen on permanent display at WGDR, and for a short time in the Photography hallway at Illinois State University!
