A huge congratulations to my cousin Andrew, whose fabulous store Bon Vivant Wines in Columbia, IL was just voted BEST WINE STORE in the St. Louis area by the Riverfront Times!
I must admit I love my wine, but Andrew’s knowledge of fine bottles and brews is incredible. He also makes great suggestions and the store is a delight to spend time in. Check it out on-line, or better yet, go visit and pick up a bottle or two!
Fine Art and Fine Wine, you might say we Traughbers have good taste!

This semester I have been lucky to be part of the Graphic Design department’s bookmaking class at ISU.
Bookmaking is an art form that lends itself to new ways of thinking about photographs, sequencing and structure. It’s been an amazing challenge. Like I need another hobby right?
For my second accordian fold Alpha-book, I photographed the coolest things ever- Alpha Tots! I’m planning on making a small edition of these books for the holidays, as they are so small and cute (2″x3″)- the perfect present for kids and those of us who refuse to grow up!

Here in Bloomington the sky is clear with a few clouds and a nice breeze- a perfect day for a wedding! We’re excited to be joining our friends Tom and Cynthia on their big day and to be photographing as well. Congrats guys, we can’t wait to see you this afternoon!

Located in Downtown Moweaqua, the Coal Mine Museum is a trove of documentation, artifacts and memories from the 1932 Coal Mine Disaster.
The museum is open weekends and is run by volunteers (including Marabeth Sarver, below, whose husband founded the Museum). A large educational and historical archive concerning the mine disaster can also be found at http://www.miningmoreinmoweaqua.com
I love spending time at the museum reading, exploring the displays and photographing… It’s amazing how well our town’s history has been preserved.

I was so excited to hear two fellow Moweaquans would be moving their family to Bloomington this past summer. We celebrated their arrival in town (and their gorgeous new house) with a photo shoot and a fun tour of Bloomington-Normal. Welcome home guys!
