Congratulations Torrie!

July 12, 2010

Torrie Roberts, Miss Illinois Galaxy 2010, placed an impressive 2nd runner up this weekend at the Miss Galaxy International pageant (www.galaxypageants.com) in Michigan. Congratulations Torrie!  She continues the tradition of Illinois being a force to reckon with at the pageant. Love, love, love these last minute shots we did of her before she left to compete, she is such a gorgeous person and so much fun to photograph!

A girl’s gotta have a hobby…

There is one thing in life that I love just as much as photography- collecting, repairing and selling vintage clothes. After stashing away so many things in my closet for the past 10 years, I thought it was time to offer some of these awesome clothes for others to enjoy. So next time you’re in Bloomington, feel free to stop by the Old Warehouse Antiques and Collectibles,  and check out the Vintage BLT rack!

Congratulations to my cousin Cally and her husband Jack who were married last Saturday in Moweaqua! It was a really wonderful ceremony to witness… (I promised them only a few pics will end up being used for my Moweaqua project)  These two crazy kids are just too adorable, so much love!

Beautiful Miss Arizona Galaxy

These images were taken on a recent trip to Arizona, where Miss Arizona Galaxy Tana Castro graciously worked all day while myself and 3 other photographers photographed her. Besides being rediculously gorgeous, she’s also incredibly patient! I met Tana last summer when we competed together for the title of Miss Galaxy, and we hit it off immediately. She’s one more friend that I wish I could see more often. Oh, and did I mention she’s gorgeous?

It was a great experience to learn more about lighting on location from my boss Jackie (www.studiojphotography.net), Jeff Dashowski of New Hampshire (www.dachowskiphotography.com) and Andrea Chapelo of Ohio (www.chapelo.blogspot.com), all three of whom are celebrated photographers in their field. We took a day off from the Imaging USA conference in Phoenix to meet Tana, and it was well worth the trip.
